After many, many years on stage, I found myself in Berlin, a small black hole followed and, bewitched, I felt the happiness of music. A particular encounter with the music of the African continent, or music with African roots, which has always been a great interest of mine. Madly, I heard here and there, I read this and lost that, I collected music on the shelf and in my head, I was inspired by “Tropical Portugal” – Angola, Cape Verde, São Tomé & Príncipe and Guinea Bissau. As a “music researcher” I was invited in 2015 by Analog Africa, founded and directed by Samy Ben Redjeb, to write a series of articles, to be included in the notes that accompanied the album “Space Echo – The Mystery Behind the Cosmic Sound of Cape Verde Finally Revealed “.
The “Undo The Taboo” project, in partnership with DJ Eli Pavel, was born in Berlin in 2014 and was expressed through innumerable DJ sets and the organisation of “Kilombo Nights”. From 2016, I’ve been with the “Kreyol Crew” in Berlin, who organise a monthly tropical party in different locations in Berlin – Pan-African, Pan-American and French Antilles on the dance floor.
Back in Lisbon, I play with some regularity in the Lounge, in the Independent House, in the Damas and others scatteredn around.
